It is so nice to be open again! It is so good to see you all happy, healthy, and ready to have access to more community services and experiences, with caution. I feel so privileged and grateful for your trust! So many of you have kept your pre-scheduled appointments, and so many of you are wanting appointments! We value you so much. It means a great deal to us to be serving you after being shut down by our governor for over six weeks. It is you who make us feel ”essential!”
While the office was shut down, I have been researching this virus immensely, along with its implications for dental practice. I studied the primary sources of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the CDC, the FDA, and the Texas Department of State Health Services, among others. So much information is out there, more information is becoming available, and much of the information changes. It has been a frustrating and eye-opening adventure to do this research. There is so much mis-information out in the mass media, for various reasons.
Certainly, there are some changes in my office with this pandemic. We are asking more questions before appointments and at the beginning of your appointments. We are taking your temperature with a no-touch thermometer, we are wearing more protective clothing, masks, and face shields to protect everyone, we are disinfecting all public surfaces following every patient, we have hand sanitizer available to you in the reception and check-out areas, and we are managing patient movement through the office to maintain social distancing over time. We do recognize the importance of safety and caring for you all at the same time. Again, thank you so much for your trust.
