State of Texas COVID-19 Positivity Rate Over Time

State of Texas Daily COVID-19 Infections and Fatalities Over Time

May we have experienced our COVID-19 peaks! Based upon data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, as of August 18, 2020, our peaks in state COVID-19 infections was on July 15, 2020, and in state fatalities from the same was on July 22, 2020. Also, in the past seven days, our state positivity rate has dropped precipitously from a high of 24.5% to 11.18! This is great news, and our hospitals are not over-run! We are getting very close to the CDC’s desired 10% or less positivity rate.

May we continue our personal mitigation to keep this going. If you are sick, please stay home. Wash your hands many times daily. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE. Wear a mask when social distancing of six feet is difficult over time. Family members NOT in our households are included in those with whom we should socially distance (this may seem new, but not so with CDC recommendations).

May we rely on our foundational sources for strength; facts, logic, and faith.
