Bonding: Closing Gaps in Your Front Teeth

What is Dental Bonding?

Gaps in teeth are common. They can be a problem, especially if food frequently gets caught in them. For some, they can be unsightly and embarrassing.

With bonding, Dr. Venincasa can close gaps and give you a more pleasing smile!

The bonding process uses a white resin filling material used to close gaps in the teeth. After filling the gap, Dr. Venincasa uses a special handheld light to “bond” the resin to each tooth. The result is a tight, natural fit between both teeth!

Bonding can also be used to repair other cosmetic issues, such as chips and cracks, or to change the overall shape of a tooth.

In the case shown here, the patient wanted us to close the gap in her teeth. The procedure took just 45 minutes, and you can see the result!

Bonding isn’t always the right option. In some cases, it may make more sense to use a porcelain veneer. Dr. Venincasa can help you decide which method is right for you.
