There are basically two times of the year which are best for students to pursue their wisdom tooth extractions. Those times are during their winter and summer breaks. If we consider it, the summer break is coming fast.
The reason why it is now time to plan is because many students plan for these extractions in the summer, so available time slots for these extractions become more limited as we move into the month of June. For those of you who think the wisdom teeth may be ready for considering extractions, there is a special x-ray called a panoramic x-ray which best enables us to assess the wisdom teeth. With an oral examination and this particular x-ray, a determination can be made.
As a result, with this determination, the appointment for wisdom tooth extraction can be made. It is important that the extractions be done within a couple of months of the special x-ray so that the findings are current. This assists the oral surgeon a great deal.
Within our office, Dr. Bryan Moore provides the surgical services. Then, a week later, we care for the follow up visits with our patients. This process has worked very well with our patients for years. Thankfully, our patients have experienced minimal discomfort. We trust this would work very well for you.
