On August 2, 2017, WebMD.com alerted its visitors that there was a voluntary recall of over 263,000 iPhone plastic cases containing liquid and glitter. These cases were made by MixBin Electronics of Hamilton, New Jersey, and they are compatible with the iPhone 6, 6s, and 7.
The problem with these cases was that one person received chemical burns and swelling in many parts of her body. Another person had permanent scarring from a chemical burn associated with these plastic cases.
It seems that it is the liquid and glitter within these iPhone cases that created this concern. These cases were sold through Amazon, Nordstrom Rack, Henri Bendel, MixBin, Victoria’s Secret, and Tory Burch from October 2015 to June 2017. To see if you have one of these cases, there is a listing of model numbers and UPC codes within the news article.
If you do indeed have one of these iPhone plastic cases, the manufacturer requests that its use be stopped immediately, and that customers should contact them for a “full refund” at (855) 215-4935, or may contact them through their website.
