Teeth Whitening

Many factors contribute to stained teeth, including aging and certain medications.  Various habits which contribute to teeth staining include smoking and drinking coffee, soda, tea, or red wine.  The degree of whitening you can expect from a whitening or bleaching procedure does indeed vary; however, in every case we do notice a whiter and brighter result.      Depending upon your habits and the passage of time following the procedure, the whiteness of your teeth may “fade back” a bit.  The beauty of having take-home trays is that when you notice that your smile could be whiter, you can wear your take-home trays for a session or two to achieve

Closing a Mid-line Gap Between Upper Teeth

Closing gaps between upper teeth can be done in multiple ways. The best options depend upon the width of the gap, the relative widths of the teeth, the lengths of the teeth, and the alignment and color of the teeth, among other things. Many patients come into my office with the idea that they simply just want to close that mid-line gap. However, that alone may present some compromises. This kind patient was just like that; she simply wanted to close the mid-line gap. However, my concern was that the front two teeth were already a bit too square, and

Teeth Gaps

Many people have concerns about teeth gaps. You know what I am talking about; those spaces that may exist between teeth because the teeth do not touch each other. This is quite common. There are several reasons why these gaps exist. For most patients, these exist because of the way the teeth erupted. In other cases, the midline gap is prominent. This may occur because the attachment of the lip to the gums may be wide or tight; this attachment is called the frenum. So with these gaps being fairly common, and with people having concerns about them, there are

Porcelain Veneers: A Smile Game Changer

They have whitened their teeth, when they were younger they may have had orthodontic treatment, and they work hard to keep them clean and stain-free. However, when it comes right down to it, they may still not be pleased with their smile. They may be frustrated. They are not sure where to turn. I can tell you right here that for most all situations there are options. Some options may include orthodontic treatment again. Some options may include replacing failing dental fillings and restorations. Some options may include re-shaping of teeth.

Dental Bonding To Enhanced "Peg" or Small Front Teeth

There are multiple ways to enhance a smile when there exists small or “peg” teeth. These options may include porcelain veneers, orthodontics, dental bonding, or some combination of these. In this case the patient chose dental bonding for only the smaller laterals which had been bonded years ago. Noted in the images below are the before and after pictures taken on the same day, two hours apart. We anticipate the color match to improve as the natural adjacent teeth re-saturate. During our dental procedures the teeth dry out and become lighter. As the teeth re-saturate they will darken back to
