An Incident of Decay Causing Neck and Head Pain

neck pain, Venincasa Dental, Dallas dentistJust yesterday, I was making my fairly regular follow up calls to patients who had recently received more than a mild amount of dental care. One of my calls was to Brent. He had pursued some fairly extensive dental care last week. This care had been on his plan of care for easily over half a year. However, he delayed care until now. He delayed because he was unaware of any sensitivity or soreness. When he came in for a preventive visit a couple of weeks ago, we found that some previously mild decay had become moderately to severely deep over the time period he had delayed care. So when we explained this to Brent, he accepted pursuing this care last week.
So as I was stating, I called Brent yesterday to follow up on that visit. He basically indicated to me that he was astounded with how much better he felt. He went on to explain how he had been having some body soreness, as well has soreness at the back of his head and around his neck. He added that he had not felt normal for quite a while. However, following our care to remove the moderately to severely deep decay from two teeth, he felt so much better. He could not believe it.
He added that he had been experiencing this pain for months. During this time he saw his doctor for this pain. They had not found the cause for the pain. However, he clearly found that this pain was totally gone within two days of receiving treatment last week. Naturally, I was very pleased to hear of him feeling so much better. But I must admit I was not expecting to hear this at all. I had no idea he had been having these pains. He was so grateful for our finding and recommending this care.
